Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard
Gard is situated in the East of Languedoc. It is bounded to the west by the river Rhone, to the north by the Cevennes, by the River Vidourle to the west and to the South by the Camargue and a 10km stretch of coastline. Major towns are Nimes, Alès, Uzès, St Gilles, Beaucaire, Le Vigan and Aigues Mortes. Gard has significant roman remains. It is well served by TGV, autoroute and low cost flight links.
