Photo contributions |

Historical note : Today, over 70% of photos are contributions from visitors. Originally photos were taken by us, as scans of 35mm prints (digital cameras had just been launched), reduced in size and resolution to be usable with telephone dial up. As broadband came into use, it was clear that the photos were not very good - and people wrote in to tell us. Re visiting the area was impractical, so we launched an appeal for photo contributions and replaced the old photos as better images were submitted and created thumb nail gallery pages. Then we had too many photos, and moved to the new gallery system. Archived gallery and original photo. |
